An Uncluttered Mind, by Marie MacIntyre

Father, I thank Thee
For an uncluttered mind:
The ability to think love
When others are unkind.

The ability to thank You
For what you've done:
To remember the deeds
of Your precious Son.

With Wonder I watch
What each day does bring:
The beauty of trees,
And the birds that sing.

The beauty of flowers
Around me grow:
The beauty to see
Is Thy gift, I know.

Have Faith (As A Mustard Seed), by Marie MacIntyre

Faith as a mustard seed
Will grow and grow
For when we plant our crop
We reap what ever we sow.

To reap a good crop,
We must tend it with care;
We must water, tend, and keep it
If we a crop do share.

We are each a precious seed,
And we must keep our lives in hand
Or reap the crop we sow
And have a barren land.

So Faith, as a mustard seed,
Tiny did start -
But I nourished it and tended it
From a very grateful heart.

The Exterior, by Marie MacIntyre

It was a rough earthen home,
Built with clay and sod.
But inside, love was there,
A home dedicated to God.

The mother; kindly, busy she -
Her work was never done.
Her work early did begin;
She worked from sun to sun.

Her husband and her children wore
Clothing made homespun from her loom.
Such busy, happy lives they had:
They had no time for gloom.

In another part of town,
A beautiful place did stand.
A perfect house, no love was there,
Was a jewel upon the land.

A mother here, in society
And a busy woman, she;
With clubs and cultured things,
But no time for family.

These children had a nurse to tend
Their every need and care -
Their father, was a busy man,
No time for their lives to share.

I ask you now, who has the wealth,
The gold from God above -
The wealthy, who too busy are,
Or the poor that share their love?
