I Knelt To Pray, by Marie MacIntyre

I knelt in church,
And prayed to my God above,
To guide me and sustain me,
In his own precious love.

While praying, I felt the presence,
And thanked my God that He,
Did care enough to listen,
To insignificant me.

I prayed that my deeds,
Would show the measure of my love,
And each would be acceptable,
And lead me to God above.

I prayed so hard I cried,
For I needed to feel His touch.
Then I saw Him standing,
This One I love so much.

He held His arms out to me,
And in thought I heard Him say,
"My child, with you I am pleased,
And I hear you when you pray."

Night, by Marie MacIntyre

Father I look out
In the darkness of night
And gaze at the stars
Up in Heaven so bright.

I look at the moon
As it shines up on high,
Surrounded by stars
In a darkened sky.

Many of God's creatures
Are snuggled in bed
As the moon takes its course
In the sky overhead.

Yet many of God's creatures
Come out in the night
And hunt by the beams
Of the moon's waving light.

Whether a day
Or a night creature we be
All praise for creation
Belongs, Lord, with Thee.

An Answer to a Prayer, by Marie MacIntyre

My son came home today
In answer to a prayer;
I've prayed so many times for this
That I know that God is there.

He's there and working with each one
And works in wondrous ways
And Father I watch Thy workings
And to you give all the praise.

I know you're working problems out
In your own glorious way,
And I'll pray and trust and give you love
As I thank You for today.
